Guyana is a unique and fascinating destination offering different forms of tourism centered around ecotourism, with a focus on ecology, wildlife and pristine rainforests. While historically, culturally, and economically linked to the English-speaking Caribbean, Guyana is geographically located on the South American continent. About 80% of the country is covered by the Amazon rainforest, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. These are distinctly unique features compared to the rest of the Caribbean region. Guyana also has a rich cultural landscape which is best described as a mixture of Caribbean culture (mainly found along the coast) and Indigenous roots (found further south in the country), with a dash of its colonial heritage which brought many other nationalities to live in Guyana.
