Dr. Yngson has met with Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, as the only Filipino-Dominican alumnus of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences since its establishment in 1956.

In 2019, for his strong advocacy in developing peace and economic growth for the underprivileged Tausug people of Sulu, His Majesty Sultan Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram, the 35th Sultan of Sulu, and head of the subnational monarchy of Sulu, raised Dr. Yngson to the nobility and conferred upon him the customary noble title of “Datu Sadja”. This title is comparable to that of a marquess or earl in European monarchies. In appreciation of his continued altruistic service, he was further granted in 2021 the princely title of “Rajah of Tambulian” as the first traditional ruler of Tambulian Island, an island owned by the Sultan. The Royal Sultanate of Sulu has existed for more than 600 years and is currently part of an autonomous region in the southern Philippines. Its status, titles, and indigenous customs are protected by Philippine legislation.

For his exceptional services to the Rwandan diaspora, Datu Sadja Dr. Yngson has been honoured with the "Grand Cross of the Royal Order of the Lion of Rwanda" (GCLR) by His Majesty Yuhi VI Emmanuel Bushayija, titular Mwami (King) of the Royal House of Rwanda.
